How many vacuum massage sessions do you need for cellulite?
Vacuum massage changes the look of cellulite gradually, so it is normally done as a course of sessions rather than once. There is no single number that suits everyone: it depends on the area, your skin and your goals. At Health Haven we suggest a plan at your first visit, then occasional top-ups.

Why isn't one session enough?
Cellulite shows where fat presses against the connective bands under the skin, so no single treatment changes it for good. Vacuum massage works on how the area looks and feels, and that change builds with repeated sessions. One visit feels like a firm, relaxing massage; the visible change comes from the series.
The machine we use, Synergie AMS, is made by Dynatronics. The manufacturer describes it as therapeutic vacuum massage aimed at a temporary reduction in the appearance of cellulite and in the circumferential measurements of the treated area. The word temporary matters: results are maintained over time, not permanent.
Independent reviews of mechanical vacuum massage are mixed, and dermatology guidance stresses that cellulite treatments give temporary results that need maintenance. That is why we talk about courses and top-ups rather than promising an outcome from one visit.
What decides how many sessions you need?
It depends on the area you want to work on, how pronounced the dimpling is, your skin, and how consistently you can come. Treating one area, such as the thighs, usually needs a smaller course than treating the thighs, hips and tummy together. We agree a plan with you rather than selling a fixed number.
Your starting point matters as much as the machine. Skin that is firmer to begin with tends to respond differently from skin that has lost elasticity, and an area you can come back to every week gives the treatment more to work with than one you can only fit in monthly.
Lifestyle plays a supporting role. Regular movement, enough water and good food do not replace the treatment, but they help the result last, which is why we always ask about your week and your goals before suggesting a plan.
How long do the results last?
The improvement in how cellulite looks is temporary, as it is with every cellulite treatment. How long it lasts varies between people and depends on lifestyle, hormones and how often you top up. Regular movement, drinking enough water and the odd maintenance session help it last longer.
Cellulite is influenced by genetics, hormones and age, and a treatment cannot change those. What vacuum massage can do is improve how the area looks and feels for a period, and keep doing so with occasional sessions. We keep expectations honest because a result you understand is a result you are happier with.
Is it worth trying one session first?
Yes. A single session shows you what the treatment feels like and lets us talk through your goals, with no commitment to a course. Nothing is paid online when you request a booking, and we confirm a time with you on WhatsApp, so the first step costs you nothing but a minute.
If you enjoy it, we can plan a course around your week. If you do not, you have lost very little. Either way you will have a clear sense of what to expect, which is more useful than any description.
Can I do this on a limited budget?
Yes. Treatments are priced per session, so you can book one at a time rather than paying for a course up front, and pairing two treatments in one visit costs less than booking them separately. Tell us your budget when we confirm and we will suggest a plan that fits it, not simply the longest one.
A shorter plan done consistently is usually better than a long plan you cannot keep up. We would rather you came regularly for a few weeks than booked a large course and struggled to fit it in.
Nothing is paid online when you request a booking, so you can ask questions and decide at your own pace.
What helps the result last between sessions?
Stay active, drink enough water and keep up your usual routine. Regular movement and good food help skin look firmer and help results last. Be wary of anything that promises a shortcut. Once your course ends, ask us about a top-up rhythm so you only come back as often as it is useful for you.
None of this is a requirement for the treatment to work, and nobody is checking your habits. They simply sit alongside the sessions and make the result easier to keep.
If your routine changes, whether you start training, get busy or take a break, tell us and we will adjust the plan with you.
